Ummm no. More like deer in headlights. She was pwned in the first 2 minutes. Popular Dumb kid shows up at the Math Olympics. You can’t paint a turd.
She doesn’t speak to anyone and we have no idea of what her message is other than the hate she shovels in her speeches.
Then again ….
“Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. ” —Dr Samuel Johnson
“What matches the whole “Obama is a Muslim” nonsense that I’ve seen here, there, and everywhere?”
Sarah Palin is not her baby’s mother? John McCain started a disastrous fire on an aircraft career?
I haven’t heard the thing about McCain and the fire, but the thing about Palin not being her baby’s mother – which Sullivan keeps talking and talking about – is absolutely crazy.
The weirdest thing is that – unlike the “Obama is a Muslim” nonsense – I can’t imagine anyone caring very much in the extremely unlikely event it were true. Someone covering up for her kid’s pregnancy would probably be treated with (and would deserve, in my opinion) sympathy. I can’t believe Sullivan is going on and on about it – it just makes him look like a lunatic.
Yeah, Sullivan needs to drop his whole obsession with the Palin subject. But I hear no one besides him talking about it. It’s not much of a conspiracy with only one voice.
I haven’t heard zip about McCain and a fire.
I think Powell said it best “The correct answer is that Obama is a Christian. The right answer is who cares if he was Muslim?” I think the right just needs to knock it off and quit playing on idiot’s bigotry about who is a good American based on religion, race or ethnicity.
I didn’t think the opening skit was funny. I thought news sketch was mildy funny, and Palin was a good sport to go along with both. Especially after the stir Tina Fey has caused.
“The correct answer is that Obama is a Christian. The right answer is who cares if he was Muslim?”
I like that — it’s always a problem to correct the reference, because, of course, there’s nothing wrong with being a Muslim (well, as an athiest, I kind of don’t like it, but certainly no more so than being a Catholic, or whatever other religion you want to hew to).
I do think Palin should release medical records, though. But in thinking that, I also realized how much more vulnerable it is for a woman to release her medical records. Palin’s records must include a discussion of her pregnancies, as for any other mother, making her health records more extensive than the men’s. I guess our bodies are just more complicated. I think the solution is to release them in a confidential way to a group of reporters who agree not to discuss non-relevant info (meaning, not relevant to her ability to serve as president).
The problem with these discussions is always the operationalization of terms. When one says that “the left is more negative than the right,” it’s just so full of vagueness that both sides can go back and forth and never get anywhere. What is the left? Is it all Obama voters? Obama campaign workers? elected Democratic officials? the bloggers at Kos? Everybody who walks with a little bounce to their step? And then what does negative mean? Telling lies? Telling hard truths? Snark? Then how does one quantify negativity? How does one actually show that one side is worse than the other?
“How does one actually show that one side is worse than the other?”
I think most of us have been to graduate school. We could do this. Who else is up for the world’s most tedious and contentious content analysis project?
Amy, you’re saying the person who was anti-muslim was a truth teller? And the McCain volunteers who said he was alienating voters were thugs? Seriously?

Never again will I believe lefties’ claims that most negativity comes from the right. This year the left has matched or bettered it.

Sullivan is on the left? Really? News to me. And to him, I’d guess.
