  1. How about Wendy? what are you going to do when Hillary looses?
(and, MH were you considering Hillary, or is your comment a joke?)

  2. Cute graphics at the NYtimes. Little boxes that move around and everything. Those things can keep me procrastinating for hours (though I’m stuck on a piece of nasty coding, another incentive).

  3. Joking. If Clinton does win, I’m still voting for McCain. However, I have heard that sentiment from women I know. And, I do prefer Clinton to Obama.

  4. There is no fucking way I am voting for any Republican ever again. My personal view is that anyone who voted for Bush should be sent to the shed in the back of the yard and not allowed to come out and vote until they are suitably penitent about the travesty of the last 8 years.
    I am only slightly kidding.

  5. These preferences are interesting. We are hosting an Obama volunteer at our house while he works for the campaign in Northern Virginia. Nice kid, has been working on the campaign for several months. His second choice candidate is Ron Paul?!?!
I haven’t decided whether I will vote for Obama or McCain in the general, but if Hillary were the nominee, I would vote for McCain. This is because I see her as personally odious and incompetent at running things (the campaign, most recently, the health care initiative, long ago in ‘their’ first term), more than because I see any particularly strong policy differences between her and Obama.
My own policy preferences are probably between the Dems and McCain – I see him as serious on national defense in a way I don’t see in the Dems. I do think McCain and Obama are more likely to stand up to the teachers’ unions than Clinton, and that’s a big point in their favor.

  6. Wendy,
I didn't vote at all in 2000, so I hope I get a nicer shed (maybe with a wooden floor).

  7. BeeJay, I plan to wait until October. Things will happen. They'll make speeches. I'll read position papers. BHO either will, or won't, be convincing about why Bill Ayers is not a problem McC either will, or won't, say something hideous about gay people. Somehow I will form an idea about which one of them would be better at running something. BHO either will or won't continue with his creepy pander to the protectionists on trade. McC either will or won't stand firm for free trade. Maybe there will be a nasty money scandal about McC backers. Maybe the Chicago-politics-Rezko stuff will still look salient.

  8. MH, for you I will reserve the very nicest shed of all. You can have wall to wall carpet, a double bed, and maybe even a plasma tv. 🙂 But no cable–don’t even ask!
