I’m hearing that Spitzer was asking for something unusual from the prostitute. Who wants details? I want details.

I love that the scandal involves a prostitute ring and not just one lonely old ‘ho. Much, much better. Apparently, the Emperor’s Club used to rate their women with a series of diamonds. I would love to know what the rating system was based on. Looks or expertise?

  1. I just don’t understand men. Really. OK, not all men, but apparently an awful lot. Or is it the whole “power corrupts” thing, makes a person feel invincible?
    Digby and Susie Madrak are both making noises about this being politically motivated at the DoJ. At least they didn’t have to trump up something like they did against Don Siegelman.

  4. So, this morning at breakfast my 9-year-old, who had been looking at the front page, asked me to define ‘hypocrisy’, ‘prostitution’, ‘engulf’, and to tell him how people get prosecuted. Thanks, Governor Spitzer.

  8. That’s funny. My daughter asked about the front page, too. But she wanted to know what was happening to the woman in the photo on the front page (she was being beaten by police in a raid on a smokeshop).
    And wow, I just went to Projo to find the article/photo, and I can’t find it. (The trial of the Narrangansetts who were arrested in the raid is going on now.)
    But Projo Online has a special section on the Spitzer scandal! Sex sells, but police violence against citizens doesn’t!
    In other words, I am kind of disappointed in the prurient interest in this scandal. I really care a hell of a lot more that apparently making financial transactions of more than $5K is considered grounds for the IRS and the federal government to look into my private records and JFC set up a wiretap.
    I’ll turn off my moralizing voice now. 🙂

    The phone rings. Hillary Rodham Clinton picks it up.
    “Yes?”
    “Hillary, it’s Silda Wall Spitzer. Sorry to call so late. Eliot’s still not home. Based on your experience, what should I do?”
