  1. He should stay, but he will probably go. The early season problems were not of his making; he might be held accountable for starting Wang on short rest, but hitting problems in the ALDS were not his fault. But firing the manager is an easy thing to do to create a sense of change, and that is what whoever is running the show will do. The bigger question is: how much should they pay, or not pay, to keep A-Rod?

    Steinbrenner’s attempt to boost the team backfired on him.
    Anytime a boss gives an ultimatum to win, even if he won, we is a great coach and PLENTY O PLACES are willing to call on him to coach. And guess what, guess where the talent from the yankees will then go? Those who can retire, will be even more compelled.
