A recent poll in the New York Times found that Americans felt that universal health insurance was the most important issue for Congress. They found that American support for universal health insurance has gone up, even slightly surpassing support from the beginning of the Clinton presidency. Most Americans were willing pay $500 per year in taxes in order to get universal health insurance. Really fascinating.

Interesting thread on Ann Althouse about what kind of bloggingheads debate women would tune into. I guess a lot of women don’t watch them. (I do.) This blogging thing has made me more aware of gender differences and politics. My theory is that women definitely do like politics, but particular topics interest them more than others, and they talk about these issues in entirely different ways than men do. I think women gravitate towards women writers and bloggers, though I’m not entirely sure why.
