Weekend Journal

The first semester as a university is always difficult. You have to find the bathrooms, get your parking pass, make nice with the office secretary. Not to mention assembling lectures and paper assignments. Since the week is mostly devoted to giving the lectures, my weekends have been consumed with writing the bloody things.

For the first few weeks, I worked at my office at the college. It was quiet, but too quiet. I missed the kids too much. So, this weekend, I sat in my home office and wrote with a million of little distractions in the background. I’ve been in front of the computer for nearly 12 hours today and 12 hours yesterday. Still, lecture writing, unlike other kinds of writing, is very compatible with requests to help with an art project and the sounds of a video game on Steve’s PC.
