Spam Spam Spam Eggs Spam

I have to take a day or two off to fight off spam assholes. Some guy in Uruguay hits my blog every morning with 100s of comment spam. It takes me 30 minutes to delete it all. Even the verification software didn’t hold him back. I’ve banned at least 50 urls, but the dude still comes back. I have to individually close 100s of old posts today.

  1. Perhaps we should add Uruguay to the axis of evil. It would undoubtedly be easier to take over than Iraq. And we then maybe we could put this joker on trial at an international spam tribunal.
So sorry you have to deal with this mindless, cyber-craziness.

  2. A spam-bunal. Maybe I can just hire a hit man and commit spam-icide. I’m still deleting comments and closing comments. 2 hours today and counting.

  3. I had somebody slamming me out of an Australian IP block for a month with at least fifty comments every day. That wasn’t as bad as the roving IPs and slightly altered text coming from a whole bunch of different internet addresses that rose up to a hundred and fifty one memorable afternoon. But two hours of deletions? Whoa! That’s awful.

  4. I’ve had these strange links pop up in my “outgoing links” record. For instance, I see something called “Care Insurance” linking to me. I click on it, and I see a minimalist sort of blog, with a normal blogging template, but all the content is stolen. If you try to find the root web server you can’t do it. Neither does the ‘Care Insurance’ ‘blog” come up on Google.
there are hundreds of them, featuring recycled cut and pasted posts by me and other unwitting patsies.
