I had a question I was hoping you can answer. Would it be strange if a food company you mentioned in your blog, like Tropicana or Annie’s mac and cheese, sent you a bunch of mac and cheese for you mentioning them in your blog? (No, I don’t work for them, I’m just using them as an example.)
Would it feel a little strange (big brother-esque) or would you think it was cool or? I’m doing a study and would really appreciate your input. Thanks for your blog, btw. Its great. Charlie
Charlie – It would be strange if Tropicana or Annie’s sent me some free food. However, I’m all in favor of free food and am quite willing to sellout for packages of mac n’ cheese and juice. In fact you’ve got me thinking. Maybe I should compose a post involving Sam Adams beer and Primio sausage. Think big, I say. Laura

Good luck with that. I mention Natalie Portman all the time and have yet to see any free samples arrive at my doorstop.

My husband did a post on his blog about Brillo cream and compared it to a French hair gel he found.
The French company sent him free samples, I’m assuming because he came up on a search engine for it. That was pretty cool, not creepy at all. I think it’s mostly small companies who would do this, though.
