The letter of week in Jonah’s kindergarten is B. His teacher had the children draw pictures of objects that begin with the letter B. One kid drew a ball. Another drew a bear. Jonah drew the Britons.

You must post this picture somewhere. I am dying to see it! I would brag on a kid like that so much. Were they ancient blue-painted Britons, or redcoats, or what? So awesome.

He drew the ancient Britons carrying a flag with a double sided ax. He’s gotten into Roman history because he’s been playing a war simulation game, Rome, with my husband. They sit around planning battle formations for slaughtering the Gauls and Carthegians. Nice, huh? Well, he knows the map of Europe and Northern Africa and the names of many of the German tribes. Not bad for a five year old.
I hope that this obsession doesn’t lead to a call from a school social worker.
