  1. Ben Nelson’s resistance to the Democratic reform proposal arises from some combination of genuine principle and honest political calculation; he’s a pro-life Democrat, and he wants to keep pro-life Democratic voters and donors happy with him. Lieberman’s resistance has, from what I can tell, no such legitimate grounding.

Nebraskans are very persuasive. Lieberman probably got persuaded in the green room.

By Col. Mustard with the candlestick?
It’s a good thing that Lieberman has better health care coverage than he’s wishing on several million people.

  4. As a native Nebraskan, I can honestly say that Ben Nelson is hands down the worst senator we’ve ever had. He is absolutely horrible. Yes, he needs to get elected by red staters, but he does a lot of stupid things that please no one and are not grounded in any particular way of thinking. Frankly, he’s not that bright, and because he’s always on the margins, he gets sucked up to a lot by the party who have to deal with him. He makes me ashamed to be a Nebraskan.

  5. If Lieberman follow through with his threat, then the Democrats better damn well strip him of his committee posts. He’s an a**.
