A special issue of Development Review examining the impact of TV on toddlers. (via The Monkey Cage ) A special issue of the Journal of Information Technology and Politics looks at the impact of YouTube on politics. Sadly, you need JSTOR to access most of these articles. Damn you, academic paywalls.

  1. Should parents be jailed when their children drink?
If they tried to jail many people, the 21 drinking age would probably be changed. As near as I can tell, the drinking age is like the pot prohibition. The laws only stand because they aren’t enforced strictly enough to threaten those who are opposed to the law.

  2. MA residents can get into JSTOR by getting an e-library card through the Boston Public Library. Don’t know if New Jersey has anything similar, but it’s worth checking. Either way, though, the academic paywalls are Teh Suck.
